I have a 95 Galant, and need to change the timing. Does anyone know where I can purchase the little jumper wire(that attached to a ground) thatI have to use to adjust timing? Or perhaps something that I can use instead?

Well it requires that it be connected to a ground,
Just make one? Can't you fab something out of 6 or 8 gauge wire? I was under the impression that anything dubbed a "jumper" wire was just a piece of wire... :shrugs:

Use any piece of wire and run it to ground, it's that simple.

brown jumper connector is right by the firewall. use a paper clip to jump the terminals then use a jumper to ground it to the firewall.. boom done

The plug had to prongs coming out of it, so I just slapped the aligator clip in between(so it touched both) and then connected the other end to the negative battery terminal.

....the female side is the one supposed to be grounded. If you noticed no drop or rise in rpm, then it didnt work properly.
Take your aligator clips, get some 14-16g wire, and crimp your clips to each end of the wire. Then, you'll be good to go.
Have you been able to locate the marks with the gun yet?

I havent even been able to look much at it. Im pretty sure I have the right plug, but I will take pictures to be sure. Its actually pretty possible that I didnt even jump it correctly.
Perhaps thats why the marks only seemed to line up when the Dizzy was turned all the way retarded?
I so owe you a beer after this is all done! Thanks

If youre using the brown connector on the firewall, youve got the right one. Just be sure its the female side you're jumping. And that is possible that having it grounded improperly will make the marks line up differently. When you jump the terminals and ground it, it sends it into basic timing, and thats when the proper adjustment can be made.
No worries on the beer thing man, I just like to help where I can. Appreciate it though! Haha

CI am pretty sure I have the right one. I will take pics at lunch, but there is only the little cover thing on that plug, once that is removed it looks like a female plug, with 2 little prongs inside. I also couldn't shut off the stereo inside the car, so I will probably have to disconnect that anyways in order for it to not be getting any power.
