i dont know if it is a stupid idea or not. Or if there is a problem with the security option. i was valeting this car at my work and it had a hidden sensor behind the dash somewhere and there was a remote on the key chain that you had to put up to the sensor in order to start the car. its not a new idea but i was just seeing if it is a good idea?

Lots of cars have that stock. It's a little chip in the plastic part of the key and a sensor on the steering column.

The best security option is not owning a honda.

Word. i remember seeing 9news, a chopshop in westminster that had brand new RSX's right off a car lot.

that's pretty cool. It's alot safer than using a key to start up a car, yes?

Any system can be bypassed given the right incentive. The transponder system is not immune to car theft. You can buy and setup on your own any car using a transponder key fob using Ebay parts and a little know how.

Hell I did that years ago with a magnet and a reed switch on my Honda. Not that I think there was ever much risk of it getting stolen. Was cool handing people my keys and them telling me it wont start though :)

All it is, is a simple starter kill. In which when these points are connected it allows the car to be started.

Some Clifford alarms have this option, mainly their high end ones. Its on the alarm i have actually, but my friend owned the car before me and installed it at his shop so i do not know a whole lot about it. Havent even driven it yet as im waiting to put a motor in the car. Just letting you know it is out there.
