For the 1988 RX-7 i'm going to get the stock cat replaced with a high-flow cat and it doesn't have a SAV on it. Does it matter if I get the SAV fabricated from the cat-back exhaust system, or does it have to be before the cat?

Any time Ive tried to remove the SAV, its made the car run a little funny (been a while, so if Im remembering correctly). I'd recommend checking out http://corksport.com/ for ALL of your rotary needs....their peices/parts, fitment, and performance are excellent, as well as their prices. Hope that helps!

I plan on getting a high-flow cat, with the corksport power series exhaust system. The only things close to a cat with a SAV is the racingbeat pre-silencer, which isn't a cat, and the bonez cat, which cost a grip. The reason I asked this was because I was wondering if it really mattered if the port that got the exhaust gases needed filtered exhaust, or unfiltered exhaust to keep the port running smoothly.
