My PS pump fucked up and i was thinking of a wire tuck anyway, so i figured the pump out would give me more room and clean up the bay...anyways...I saw this loop kit on HT and its supposed to make turning easier when removing power steering. I was wondering if this kit would fit on a 92 DA integra? If this kit doesn't work where can i get one for my ride? Any other ideas on basically converting my steering rack to manual without changing the rack itself? Thanks in advance! :)

So no issues so far? do you like the power steering on or off better? also, how hard is it to turn/park ?

So if I just loop it from one nipple to the other I should be good? They say adding a breather to the loop makes turning easier than just looping the rack. True ?

I havent had the car for more then 2 years now, but ya I didnt have any problems.
It was pretty difficult to turn when you werent moving, but it was something that I was able to deal with pretty easily

Yup, that sure beats paying $75 for a few simple parts. That's also what we do for 944 race cars that came with power steering.

I posted in your other thread, but check out the P/S removal thread (http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88673&highlight=manual+steering+rack)on G2IC, it'll answer all of your questions. Gut the valve body, and loop the lines.

You're better off just taking off your PS belt??? Essentially the same thing
Mean while, taking out your whole system will save you ~20lbs, and make your engine bay a LOT cleaner

Thanks alot afrointegra. :biggthump...I'm going to try to remove the valve body from the car and gut it on the bench, instead of taking the whole rack out. Then i'm gonna loop the rack and hopefully it'll work out for me. :)

Have you looked into manual steering racks at all? Not sure how cost effective they are, but I am also an advocate of No power steering. Simplicity > Easy turning.

^ Yes Sir. I thought about doing the EF rack, which is the right way to do this, but the I wasn't digging the EF rack's ratio. So im going gor the loop. :)

No problem phantom. I'm rocking the EF rack on my DB1, had it on for years and love it. Agreed on the the ratio part, but I think the response is all worth it. But i've never driven on a looped rack, so I wouldn't be able to compare the two.

What is wrong with the ratio? I don't understand.

The manual rack requires more turns lock-to-lock, compared to a power assisted rack. Quaife does make a gear-set though for the manual rack, to aide this.

I got AN fittings making the two lines that run off the rack into a loop and then put a T in it to, to a breathable reservoir steering did not get any harder but if its not a breathable reservoir it will be much harder but still not to bad unless in a parking lot
