Yeah, sounds like a BS story to me, and it's still a felony either way. If his story is really true, then HE needs to contact the State Patrol and straighten it out right away, otherwise it's only a matter of time until someone ends up in cuffs for possession of that tranny. It's no secret that the CSP is very strict on VIN laws, especially on Hondas, and they will arrest your ass for something like this (as many other people have already found out).

So you did or didn't sell the tranny to him with the vin plate missing?

....does seem a bit fishy....

I would assume it was stolen as well, especially after seing no VIN tag on the tranny. Does the engine still have the VIN tag on it?? ....or did that "rip off" during the swap also...Haha.

i highly doubt its stolen.
ive bought quite a few legit engines and trannies that have broken or removed vin tags.
in vegas people would shave them off and restamp them with their own identifying markings in a different area of the trans, or engine. so that it would not be mistaken if it were to get stolen.
as for this set up...i know bruce wouldnt peddle stolen shit.
i cant believe how everyone just went crazy about this. if u really had a problem u would call the Scottsbluff, NE cops and have this guy investigated. and u can all honestly tell me that u have never owned anything with out vin tags?
where is the vin tag on your obd0 trans? and what if your vin tag did break? would u pull your tranny, that u know is legit, out and throw it away?
and if u want to dig deeper get ahold of the people Bruce got the stuff from originally. until then..

leave the guy alone. he just wants to sell his car. if u dont like it, dont buy it.

Thats what i'm talking about. sounds like a bunch of haters with nothing to do and no money. I would hate too when i find shit i can't afford. This is a good person with a wife and three kids, and would not take any risk to get in any trouble and jepordize his family. He bought his swap from a legit person Mrsatisfier. The poor kid asked me to post up on hai for him cause he doesnt have over the stupid 100 posts. now why would you go post in a forum where everybody is super theft concisious if you had something to lose. i told him to post on craigslist instead of hai just so he doesn't get lowballers calling waisting time. SO HAVE A GOOD DAY HATERS!

Um, newsflash guy.. it's a fucking FELONY to have those parts with broken/missing VIN plates! Maybe you didn't understand that... let me make it a little more clear for you.

FELONY

As in, bye bye trying to get a decent paying job, hello jail time, hello legal fees, hello parole, etc., etc., etc.

No, I have never owned anything missing a vin plate... why? Well, if I have to tell you why, you need to set the pipe down. OBD0 trannies won't have rivets/rivet holes in them because they weren't there to begin with. Out of the many swaps I've done, I've never had a vin plate "snap off". They are on there pretty fucking solid, actually. IF, for arguments sake it did break off, YES, I WOULD find a different tranny because that $500 isn't worth a felony on my record to me, or getting my car crushed, etc., etc.

Thats what i'm talking about. sounds like a bunch of haters with nothing to do and no money. I would hate too when i find shit i can't afford. Uh? Because we think felonies aren't cool? That means we don't have money? Okay. Alright, maybe the guy selling the car is an honest straight as an arrow Christian man who was misinformed. Fact of the matter is, the transmission is missing the VIN plate, which to the law = stolen (at least in Colorado), which will get you a nice little felony on your record.

Maybe Mrsatisfier is the one we should be looking at?

By the way, he doesn't need 100 posts to reply to a thread - only to start them in the trade section.

Here's the deal, guys... It doesn't matter if the parts are legit or not. As it is right now, it has a removed metal VIN tag, and possession of such parts are a class 5 felony under CRS 42-5-102. If a Colorado law enforcement officer sees a part with a missing VIN tag, you'll get arrested and the parts may be destroyed, per the order of CRS 42-5-110. You can bet that Nebraska has similar laws.

What the seller needs to do is get the paperwork for these parts to prove his rightful ownership of them, and contact law enforcement, who can then document things and give him a replacement identification number if neccessary. This is absolutely the seller's responsibility, and anyone who buys the car without that happening is committing a crime (and obviously the seller is too).

No amount of noobs vouching for this guy and saying how "legit" it is, will change any of that. The law is the law, and this is an area that they enforce and take very seriously.

i think instead of instant hating on a person, people should just ask questions about any concerns of what is beings sold/bought.
instead of upsetting an honest person.

but i guess thats sumthing we have all learned to live with on here.

it seems as tho this has opened a huge box of crap for this guy. he is now in contact with nebraska authorities, to see how he can make this legit...i assume its going to be a long shitty process. but atleast he is making an effort to right this.

That doesn't make any sense. Criminals do dumb shit that gets them busted all the time. No one ever said they were smart.

and for all hai memembers put your money where your mouth is no mother fucker in here have cash anyways just hot airs straight up u could ask any who has delt with me they all been satisfied thats how I my name

It's replies like this that make people suspicious, especially coming from someone who has admitted ties to thieves... http://www.highaltitudeimports.com/showthread.php?t=58869

And once again, the biggest thing keeping someone from buying this car is not money, it's the class 5 felony that they'd be committing by taking possession of such a car. Talking shit to us because we have a problem with that fact makes you look pretty shady.
