I am on a comittee that is trying to bring street racers to the track to get some legit runs in. I need as many responses as possible to gauge interest, and hear input from everyone who wants to participate. Please use this thread to post your Ideas for these events. At this point, we are looking at 4-5 Saturday Night races at PMI. Street tires will be allowed IN THE GROOVE! Cost is estimated at $10 per car. Basically we just need input - How would YOU like this to be run? Does everybody want bracket racing, time only runs, quick 8, heads up, what type of tree, what format?? Brainstorm Here. Thanks for your input!!

Besides the fact that the track conditions at PMI are simply laughable, your plan is something that is needed.

Good luck.

I'm with Tobi on this one....sometimes getting to Bandi seems like a pain in the ass, no way I'd make it down there more than once a year.

damn it's in pueblo... i'm also less than 10 minutes away from bandi. fewer miles on my car and apparently better track conditions

I heard of some city in Indiana (i think) that had the cops sponsor a night at the track. They would even bring out the cruisers and you could race against them with lights and sirens on. That would be fun

Colorado Springs Police Department is participating in the planning and promotion of this event. We may try to have pueblo PD bring out a car so the kids can race against it.

Hehe, that would be cool to see the riced out cars go against a cruiser and lose bad. A bit of humility never hurt anyone, and it might help them think twice before running from them.

I'd go for some time only runs in the groove on drag radials. Saturday night sounds good to me.

If its at night I might have a hard time with it. Long drive home and all. If it was during the day though no prob. Dont they run SCCA stuff there during the day though?

Some weeks there is road racing going on, but we would be on the schedule to avoid any conflict. We want to hold it at night because that's when most street racing would occur.

I would for sure go. Maybe not all the times but definatelly once. I don't want to hear anymore bitching about the drive though, I live in Fort Collins and its at least an hour and a half drive to Bandi and to Pueblo would have to be an overnighter but that's what makes racing part of the fun right? Driving and chillin'. And besides, the more legal racing the better, it gets the cops off our backs and us off the streets (not saying that street racing isnt fun but I've had more than a few friends die that way). I would prefer to have bracket racing just because I think more people would show up and if there isn't points involved than I dont think big names will show... just my opinion though. So everyone suck it up, make it out there at least once all together and take over the hotels...it'll be fun!!!!!!!!

Bandi is too far for me to make it when they have the t&t's, so id be up for a pmi thing...I dont have to worry about a shitty track condition cause im AWD and dont have enough power yet to have traction problems:D . Id like to hit some 13s at least this year.

So far it looks like this - 2nd Wednesday night of every month, may-sept. gates open at 6:00. Treaded tires ALLOWED in the groove. Time trials only with quick 16 eliminations. Format is subject to change after the first event, when we have enough input from the racers who actually show up. We still need ideas and input so please feel free to post your thoughts here...

Count me in...

Supposedly they will allow Domestic V6 and 4 Cylinder owners to participate in this class.

Yup... going to throw the Buick Grand National into the mix.

Sorry, domestic vehicles have to be Front Wheel Drive...you'll have to wait untill buick day!

Wait a second... I thought that this was supposed to be a way to bring street racers to the track and now you're going to blackball all RWD domestics? That doesn't make any sense.

They fear a car weighing more than two elephants with a domestic V6 turbo motor.

The aerodynamics of a flying brick too!

It is an import/compact series and they don't let us run at Ford Day.

It just says street racers,I know that but the thread title is what I was going by. I personally don't care what runs and I vote for anything but I don't make the rules.

You can however run with HAI at the Club Clash since we need all the team members we can get and it's kinda funny to hear the announcer mention a classic domestic V8 running with the HAI team.

Yeah Joe runs his Plymouth Belvedere in our club. Or if its broke, his Chevy S10. We even had a Buell in our club last year.
