Well, I have what most people think of as an old persons slow car. Well let me tell you it is anything but! It is a 1995 Volvo 850 turbo (T5) with 222hp (stock) turbocharged and intercooled 2.3liter inline 5cyl. It has a Mitsubishi TDO04-15G turbo providing around 10psi. All I have done to my car so far is add a dawes device MBC and a WeaponR dragon cone filter. Although I suspect my car has some sort of cylinder compression leak as the MBC will not raise the boost on my car (most people with my car can safely turn up the boost to around 12-14psi with no problems and running just a $35 MBC they are knocking a sec off their 1/4 ET. putting them in the mid 14's) But sadly I have a leak to hunt down. My car does decent anyways. You'd be suprised at just how fast and powerfull Volvo's can be. And there is a fair amount of aftermarket support (although no where near that of Honda and others)

Here is my best timeslip. It has a 4-speed auto and was (and still is) stock

R/T - .794
60' - 2.490
330 - 6.830
1/8 - 10.171
mph - 74.75
1000 - 13.020
1/4 - 15.434
mph - 93.46

Me at the track

Me at about 120mph (supposedly per others with the same car it will go about 145-150, but I have only had it to 136)

And finally my engine bay

BTW: I am a moderator over on http://www.volvospeed.com so if you ever want to know more about Volvo performance (not that many of you care but here's a link anyways) head on over.

Sweet, welcome to the board. There's another Volvo on the board, a 240 I think. His screen name is Brickstylz. (where the hell is he anyways?).

So you're from Minneapolis? All of the members from my old band live and play there.

There are a few of us Volvo guys lurking around (I'm also on volvospeed.com.)

I still love the looks on people's faces when I blow them away in a Volvo. My favorite was the guys in the riced out Camry who were tailgating me at 70. When traffic opened up I downshifted and gunned it. When they caught up the passenger had his head literally out the window squinting to see what kind of car pulled away so quickly. T5s are really quick compared to most cars from 70-120, especially at altitude.

Having that kind of speed along with the excellent seats, stereo, etc. is great! Now if only it would turn as well as it goes....

PS. Sorry to hear about your Brick!

Yeah, I did find the leak and unfortunatly all the signs are pointing to worn piston rings. So sometime in the next year I'll take the motor out and rebuild it.

I did a cylinder compression check and it came up as 155psi on cylinders 1-4 and 135psi in cylinder 5. It's supposed to be 156-185psi with no more than a 28psi variation. and it takes 3 cranks to reach max pressure. For now I'm going to try that engine restorer stuff, and sometime I'll re-ring it.

BikenSki, I'm a moderator over on Volvospeed and I've seen you there before. I lurk around alot of boards.

Thought I'd give you all an update B)
