Is it possible to patch your radiator from a small leak? I managed to stab my radiator while cutting away some of the fan housing with a razor blade :( I think I remember seeing some sort of patch stuff at Checker or somthing...any ideas?

How big of a hole is it?

Tiny, maybe pinhead size. I got some stuff that is supposed to seal holes in radiators so hopefully that will work. If it doesn't I'll just have to buy a Fluidyne a little ahead of my planned schedule :)

usually that radiator leak stuff works..............I had a pretty long crack in my old '89 civic and that patched it up just fine.

The stop leak shit you dump in the radiator will end up fucking you in the long run. It clogs shit up and will cause overheating. If you clean the area really well you can solder it and it should be ok. Is it in the metal or the plastic?

Hmm, overheating bad. The hole is in the metal part of the radiator, right by where the fan blades go. So you suggest I patch it from the outside? Is soldering the only solution to patching from the outside? Guess I should yank my radiator out this week..

If its on the metal try soldering it...................the crack I had in mine was in the plastic tank on the top.

Yea I accidently jabbed the utility knife into the radiator when cutting the fan housing to fit the turbo :smashfrea :smashfrea

I'll yank the rad' sometime this week and get my solder on I guess. Thanks.

I think just normal solder should work just fine.

Ok well I got it soldered up, the hole seems like it was closed up OK. But I'm afraid it may not hold under pressure once it's back in the car and the system is flowing. I tested it by filling it up with water and it didn't leak though. Think this will hold or is there a stronger solution, like JB weld or something??

I think that should hold pretty well but you could put JB Weld on it to hold it better.
Good luck.
