A buddy of mine works at a metal recycling company. Recently, a nearly new 2007 Accord MT came in with considerable front end damage and rear end damage. Suprisingly, the radiator is about an inch away from the motor, with zero damage to the motor physically. The trans and harness look good as well.

The Car:

2007 Accord with K24 motor
MT trans (6sp? - I didnt even look)

The Good:

Engine, trans, ecu and harness look perfect
roughly 9K miles

The Bad:

Dont know if it starts. We are going to try this Friday. Needs a gas tank. The one there was punctured and leaked.

What do you think this setup is worth? They havent decided on price of everything. He is holding it for me to give him a price. His boss is pretty cool, so a decent offer, and he'll sell the whole package. I can probably get the starter and alternator thrown in as well. Everything will also be removed by them, so all you would need is the funds, and an hour to pick it up.

It would be a fabulous setup in my Teg. Though I dont have the funds. FYI, I offered $2k but they werent havin it. We had a few beers and I brought up the question again. No go at $2k lol.

Not a 6 speed. The 4 cylindri accords are lower models, with the 5 speed if it was stick. Only the v-6 accords are available in 6 speed. Think same setup in a CRV. No vtec, no close gears, tuned for fuel economy etc. Honestly the only thing you would use in this swap is perhaps the wire hareness, and the block. You would want to swap the head for a k20a1 or 2, along with the vtec ecu, and get the close 6 speed. So let this one slide.

Yea, not a 6 speed. But is 5. I thought all K series motors had some form of iVtec. Nevertheless, got it to start and it does run good. It is a drive by wire.

Heck I may just go with my original plan of building my engine (LS). It would be a lovely DD with 200 on tap.

They want around $3k for the setup (more beers and persuation did it). They would seperate anything you need. Overall, he wants the whole setup gone in one shot.

I didnt know you could pick up longblocks that cheap. Damn..

Too much money for a DBW K24. Its not the "good" i-VTEC nor can it be used with K-Pro without adding a ton of shit and changing the harness. For a grand more you could buy a K20A2 and live happily ever after.

That setup is worth maybe 1800.00, but still as a direct replacement rather than swap.
