Cleaning out VTEC solenoid?

I was reading on another site that it might be good to clean out your VTEC solenoid. My car has 105,XXX miles on it and they say the VTEC starts to lag when it gets the higher mileage on it. Is there really a way to clean it out or is this just B.S? Does it matter how many miles you have on it?.....should it still engage like it's brand new??

the only thing you can clean is the screen filter. If you take off the solenoid its right there. If this were clogged it might pose a problem........but to me it sounds like the guy was talking BS

so is there a way to clean the screen or clean the solenoid or anything like that or should i just leave it alone?
