Okay, just trying to be proactive here since I don't know what the problem is yet. Basically the symptoms started about a week ago. If I'm in any gear, usually 2nd and 3rd are most noticeable and the rpms are in the midrange but decelerating (foot not on gas or brake) the car seems to buck repeatedly. Another problem I've noticed lately is that reverse is kindof hard to get into. Not sure if they are related, but curious for input. I'm sure Hondas aren't the only cars that have these same symptoms.

My car has the same problem if I downshift into second and I am not braking or giving it gas. My car is pretty old and I'm gonna replace the clutch soon.
If you guys figure this one out I want to know. One of my cars developed this problem except for me it's 1st gear below 2000 rpm. It's in my project car and over time I've replaced the entire drivetrain but this symptom has remained. It's very annoying.
If the car was turbocharged, I'd suggest adjusting the blowoff valve. I get 'compressor surge' in the midrange if I modulate the throttle just right. The cure on other cars setup similar to mine has been either an additional BOV, or replacing the "pull" style BOV with a "push" style (Blitz).
Not being able to go into reverse is a synchro issue. Sometimes in my Integra, I would be going full throttle, and then bam, the car would buck, scare the shit out of me, I would let off the throttle, then that was that. I never figured out what it was because it didn't happen to often.

reverse has no synchro so it is normal to be a little stubborn. Its supposed to be that way to prevent accidental engagement.
