Why do you guys even have a performance forum? Looking through the topics all I see are a bunch of little girls crying because their civic is slower than a stock dodge caravan. I have real performance that you can feel in your ballz when you jumpo on the throttle. I remember a time long long ago when I had gay ass cars like yours though. Ok this has just been taken to a whole new level of idiocy with these past few posts. You CAN make ANYTHING fast!!!

The point is a SHO is slow, a del-sol is slow, a Dodge colt is slow. You CAN make any of these cars fast but the SHO and camery that you've been talking about both have stock engines, stock trannies, stock weight with 99% stock parts. Talking about an engine swap is like a RWD owner bitching that he lost because his tire pressure wasn't right or he HAS to have slicks to win etc etc... It's all relative to the subject matter. My personal feeling is that if it can't run at least 14's (at altitude) it is not fast. period.

It might be quick or speedy but not fast.

second.... my mother is a pathetic driver and has had her liscence revoked a number of times. I was lucky enough to have been taught to drive by my former touge racer stepfather. 'Obi Wan' taught me well.

third... Camrys have about 140whp stock... that 188 is at the flywheel. An 89 SHO pushes about 230 at the flywheel, and just over 200 to the ground. They also weigh less than your Camry. The 93 SHO is a little better. You didn't beat a SHO with your Camry. Stop lying.

a DIS is an ignition system with no distributor. Not everyone knows that. I helped my buddy with a Nissan 180SX install one on his SR20DET motor (yeah, it was a 240SX before he swapped motors...).
DIS has been around for a while now, and is the most reliable electronic ignition system you can have.

As far as I've understood, a 'smart' ignitor is computer-controlled variable timing on the ignition, and a 'dumb' ignitor is set to a certain timing which does not alter unless something is wrong with the damn thing.
