I can't even begin to explain what I wouldn't give to be able to do just one lap in an F1 car.

Cool video. Sounds like most of the trouble more in that the tires and pads were designed for 100 laps not a few.

I thought the go carts at IMI were fast. I can only imagine how fast these really are.

They just have a higher operating temperature range, so you have to give them a little bit of a workout before they'll give you good and consistent performance. It's possible to get them up to temp in one lap (hence the warm-up lap that they do), but that's not going to happen if you're driving the car at 5/10th's of it's capabilities, as this guy was.
