I recently put some new copper spark plugs in my car. (BCPR7ES-11) So far i think my car runs a lot better. It takes an extra crank to get the engine going, but that is the only side effect.

These are the stock plugs that came with my Si. I know you can tell how the engine is doing by looking at the plugs. Anybody have any thoughts?

I don't know much about plugs, but it looks cleaner than most of the ones I've seen.

That looks great, not too rich, not too lean. But then again, did you pull those after idleing a bit or ??

Maybe even a bit on the lean side, but it's hard to tell without looking at them in person.

they were in the car for about 24,000 miles. what about the red flaking happening on the top of the plug? i thought that was odd.

I'll have to find the pictures of the old copper plugs i use to run. the ceramic part was actually tinted green.

I think the flaking is just from the heat going in and around the ceramic, nothing to worry about I don't think, unless your plugs are like 100K k miles old.
