Does any body know who has the fastest B16 all motor in Colorado? I wanna take over the title if I can by next season. I think some port/polishing and JUN3's might be stuffed in the head next season (wanna go turbo but most my cash goes to the house now).

Just wondering who it is and what's done to it.

I forget the dudes name but he has the 89' style civic hatch. Its gray with a dented hood. I know that i saw him do 14.9's@91 at one of the club clashes with the stock exhaust manifold(no header upgrade)...i think he said that he goes 14.4@94-95 right now but i thought that that is on the bottle. He says it was all motor though. I know that he did some port n polishing and internal stuff.

Good luck with that title ted! that would be sweet.

uhh all motor is just as expensive.....actually can be even more so if you want to have a fast car.....buy boost, screw na......

true im finding that out right now because im weighting my options whether to bulletproof my boosted d16 and turn up the boost or go with a b16 turbo and it looks like right now the b16 is cheaper to do.

boost owns joo.

Greddy, you're still going to have to build the B16 internals to up the boost more than 2 PSI what you are running on the SOHC right now, so which is cheaper in the long run?

Sweet thanks for the info!

b16 boosted would be faster than the sohc boosted.

Not if the SOHC is built and the B16 isn't. And FWIW, it's just as easy to find pistons and rods for D16s too.

Yeah I know I'll have to build up the b16 if I wanna run high boost on it. But if I do go with the b16 I'll probably just run around 5-7 psi and intercool it for right now till i can save up for the internals. Right now I'm running 5psi on my SOHC.:bounce:

DSMs might not have the build quality of a Honda but a 4G63 will handle over 400+hp at the crank from the factory.
Boost is the only way to go with a 4 banger unless you got deep pockets.

I think I ran against that guy at T&T last week. Did it have an unpainted body kit front bumper, dirty yellowish in color? I lined up and finally thought I was going to beat someone for the first time that night. Wrong. Got my ass handed to me ugly style, he took off the line pretty quick and bettered my time by about 1.1 seconds (he ran 14.9 i think). Oh well, I should have talked to him to see what motor he had swapped in there...

No...its a stock body with lowering springs and wheels.

I talked to a guy about boosting a B16A in a 5th gen coupe, he was saying he ran 16psi on a greddy kit w/ the inline pro low compression headgasket and ARP headbolts, he was saying the headgasket dropped the compression to 9.0:1, sounds too good to be true. Not too shaby for two mods, although I wonder if he was just lucky and didnt blow the b16a up.

I think he was just lucky and probably didn't have that setup long. He probably stays out of boost way more than I ever do.

I wouldnt doubt it...just sounds too good to be true. I think that setup would hold up to 10 psi on high 7 psi daily driver, or at least I hope it will.

Non Intercooled you should be easily able to run 6lbs and intercooled about 7 or so on stock internals. Pang (TurboSi) ran a 14.6 in the 1/4 at only 6 lbs non-intercooled. I think that's pretty impressive. ;)

There is a guy in town with a type R that is running 16 psi on a stock motor with just the inline pro head gasket. I figured he would last a couple months at best, but it's been over a year now. He goes out street racing almost every weekend, and that thing is sick fast. I think he runs 12's or low 13's.

ahh yes the Type-R Brian speaks of is a beast. he totally kicked my ass in my Si and in my Jetta........IT is a super nice car though adn I give him respect becasue he is one of the few turbo Hondas I haven't seen blow up.

I talk to the guy with the boosted white ITR here in town and he says his car is fully built with a drag III 'custom' setup.

Depends on how built each motor is. my buddy justin runs high 10's on a D16 (SOHC) with a Vtec Head.
Forged Aries Pistions
Potter Rods
Block guard
BLah blah blah
Turbonetics 60-1 Standard

and whatever else he has.. granted it is not streetable. but still he makes 530+ hp and ~400+ TQ.

SOHC doesn't mean slow....

My friend boosted 10 psi on his stock B16a before it went BOOM. Now he has a fully built engine and makin 330 at the wheels.
