can you give atp a call and see how much you can get the stage III kit w/out ballbearing turbo charger? For a everyday guy like myself, i could get it for about 2700 total shipped. At 10% off, it would be 2430. is that the best you can do or maybe a little better(please god please)
i Plan on running the stage III kit but bumping the psi to 22-24(with use of electronic boost controller) and getting larger fuel injectors. I hope that will get me low 13's-high12's(please god please)
How about a 3-4 person group buy:Beer:
Me, Brian, Steve, Maybe Jeff:C
Also, brian...what are your turbo plans as of now??? atp stage III or custom? Do you plan on having a big turbo for next season? i don't want to be the only one;)

I'll call them tomorrow and see what I can do for price. I know I can do at least 10 percent, but i'll try for a bit more for you. I was actually thinking about teh ATP stage 3 myself, so maybe we can do a group buy type thing.

With the atp stage III, can i use my forge or do i need to go with a bov? Do you know if i can use the evo cai?
That 3" maf housing that atp offers looks tempting:)
Who is ATP? Do they have a website?
Thank.s

vwturbo.com
best site for aftermargket 1.8t turbo products out there.
John, they will have a stage III and IIII kit for your car in the next month(97-2000 1.8t a4) the turbo is probobly gonna be the t3/t4 E, which i'll have soon...almost as big as your supra t66;)
BTW I think atp stands for "advanced turbo products" or "advanced turbo performance" i can't remember which one.

well it looks like im gonna be sticking with the stock turbo for next season at least. Im pretty pumped about going for the fastest no nos k03 right now. Thats my goal for next season. Oh and I know I wont be able to do it a bandimere so does anyone wanna go to sea level and run next year? I was thinking possible waterfest or maybe dubwars or something like that

Should be perfect timing.
I think you can still use your forge with that setup. Does the intake redirect to the same place as stock with their kit? If so your intake should work fine. If not we can make a couple custom club18t cold air intakes ;). I definetly like the 3 inch MAF housing. We could use that witha custom 3 inch intake, and also replace the flex section of the intake after the MAF with a 3 inch pipe.

Dude...i am soooo down to make a road trip down to waterfest or dubwars. When are those. in the summer? Hopefully i'll have my stage III+ running good by then. I might put a little giggle shot on just for dubwars;) :D what do you guys think an atp stage III w/ a electronic boost controller and race gas could put down at bandimere on slicks. For over 2 g's i would hope at least sub 13.4 range.

Brian...would i get the front mount kit a little cheaper cause my car would be the test car? And, will the piping that fits to my stock turbo, fit to the t3/t4 E??? I think it should cause atp sells a front mount kit and it is the same for k03 or stage III.

I'll find out if the turbo is located i nthe exact same spot as stock.
Yes you would get a great price on the front mount ;)

Damn, I htought you were taling about the APR stage 3 at first. If so I would be down for sure as I think that is the route I am going if I decide to upgrade my turbo on this car. Call me a sucker, but I like all the things that apr has to offer with their kit and I like the flip switch ability on the chips. I have been so close to ordering one twice now and I keep restraing myself for teh sake of my car being so new...........so maybe next season I will go with a upgraded turbo, maybe not. Right now there are some things out there I wan tto spend my money on more than my car. But hey in 4-5 motnths my opinion may change.

Dude...you should get the apr kit. Even though i'm getting the atp, i'll admit that the apr kit is much better and gives better power BUT i like the fact that there is tons of tunning you can do to the atp kit...ie injectors, maf housing, turbo componants, wastegate, ect. of course you could do other stuff to the apr kit but i think it would be way more expensive and i don't think the the ecu would react very well and apr won't do custom software. Another reason i'm doing the atp is because in the future, i'll do a standalon fuel managment system(probobly SDS) and i think with doing standalone with the t3/t4 E, you would make insane hp figures....And lastly, it came down to price. I will be totaly running with everything including frontmount with the atp kit for a hair under 3000 and i would be up in the 5000 range with the apr kit with the adition of a frontmount... Personaly, i think the only bad thing about the atp kit is the programing. I think that if apr did the programing with the t3/t4 E(MUCH bigger turbo than gt-25) it would blow the doors of the apr stage III.
Just my $0.02

What is a bigger drag event? I like the sounds of dubwars:)
also, billy t is hosting a drag event in texas in march to kick off the drag season. that might be a little closer to home. i don't think i would be totaly done with my turbo upgrade by then though.

depending when that is I wouldnt mid going. I have spring break march 15th through the 23rd. I heard theres a 250whp requirement to enter though....I know im not even close to that right now.
I think dubwars is a bigger drag event and closer.

I was thinking dubwars was in ca somewhere
http://www.dubwar.net
Yeah, Dubwar is in Cali and usually in August.
I'd much rather go to Waterfest just because the turnout at Waterfest is MUCH bigger than Dubwar, and it'd be easier for me to swing the time off in the middle of summer.

Tyler, I have pricing for the stage 3 kit now. They are changing some of the componentsright now.
Pricing on the stage 2 wont be ready for a couple more weeks. Retail on stage 2 is 1950. retail on the stage 3 is 3195 plus an intercooler. It's almost as much as the apr kit. The apr stage 3 is 3500 if you already have an apr chip.
BoraTurbo

yeah, the kit is 3100 w/ the ball bearing turbo. without it, its 500 bucks less. so its like 2600 w/ the non ball bearing turbo. at the track, you don't go any slower with out ball bearings, it just makes it easier to drive on the street w/ ball bearing cause the lag isn't as much. besides, you can upgrade to ball bearing trim later and i'll be able to live with 600-800 more rpms till full boost.
how much can you get off the 2600? with 10%, it would be 2340...

I just like the apr 3 kit because it has really good components. Not only that I have heard good things about reliabity of other stage 3 kits that have been out for a while. And that counts for a lot if the car is your daily driver.
