Already got it back. Guy a block over called in a car that looked stolen.
Good news is Tobi's kill switch worked great. Bad news is after the car shut down they tore apart the dash looking for it.
Was stolen from out in front of my place, just like 2 weeks ago. Probably the same guys.

without giving too much info - if you had a kill switch how did they drive it away???
you need to fucking get rid of that thing, and get a pinto.

With the switch you still get a few seconds of gas. I live on a hill so they must of just gotten it on the road before it died. Then coasted down to where it was found and started ripping it apart trying to get it started again.

Its working exactly how it was designed to. The car was recovered less than 1/4 mile from its home.

Why not just make it not be able to start?

For several reasons. When the car wont start in your driveway you run the risk of damage to the house, possible breakins to the garage and home. Also if it does not start right away they are more likely to do more damage and vandalism than anything. When they get out on the street with it and it stalls, it is more likely that they abandon it right away. It also comes in handy for a car-jack situation. Let them have the car, flip the trigger device and walk away. They will at least get away from you before it stalls, puts you out of harms way.

Here are some pics. You can see they ripped apart the dash pretty well looking for the kill switch I'd presume. The key on the floor was a key to a Hyundai, cops weren't interested in it.
Also, as to how they got it so far from the house when it had a kill switch, you can see in the last picture. They pushed it. Cops weren't interested in getting prints off that either because the car was 'outside' and the 'evidence wouldn't hold up.'

I do have to say I'm a little worried now.
My hunch tells me there is a decent chance that it was the same guys this time (because of how soon after the last time it was). Who knows what their motives are or what they are on. It has to be frustrating for them to try twice and fail (last time when it was recovered it was out of gas, so I think they ran out and ditched it). They obviously know where I live. Might be time to join the firearm community.

Usually about $100 but it depends on the car and how tricky you want to get.

Thieves can read too, at least half of those can be bypassed in less than 30 seconds. I have seen some cars recovered from theft with all sorts of stupid shit used to bypass ignition and fuel pump kills. Some are good ideas but have been overused and way over publicized making it easier for thieves to look for. Step one, think of a tricky tool to immobilize your car. Step Two: DONT TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT!!!!!

Yeah, simply cutting power to something is too simple and thieves have proven that they can get around that. A starter kill is super easy to get around, and fuel pump and ignition kills are slightly better but still common and easy to bypass. Unfortunately, I've known enough people that have had Hondas and Acuras stolen, that it's pretty clear to me what doesn't work for stopping thieves. You need to cut something that they'll have to take time to diagnose, because they don't have much time to work with. The signal wire for a vital sensor can accomplish that, but make sure that it actually makes the car non-drivable, and don't tell people which one it is.
I had always wanted to do something with the ABS computer so that it would engage the brakes, but I never got around to messing with that enough to see if it was a feasible idea or not.

Good idea Weston. I would have to look into that one. :D You could also make it so that once the car is stolen, the brakes stop working so they die in a firey crash. :D
Just wire a 15 second delayed full throttle on the new cars.

God i hate hearing when people cars are stolen you put so much effort and time into there car. Holloween this year 16 cars were reported stolen according to the springs police. But mine was found... only i was not as "lucky" my engine ECU gauges and all that jazz were gone!

The parts were probably on another car on its way to AZ or NM before they even found your car. Sorry to hear it man. Id like to say they will be caught but sadly the five-oh does not care really. Since no one gets injured, the insurance company makes it right (sometimes) it is considered a victimless crime. :(
