So i went over to a buddies house the other night that has a B18C5 for sale the motor is already out of the car and the intake manifold and exhaust manifold were off the motor as well. But we took cold compression.
Any way while doing the test we found the following

CYLINDER #1=120
CYLINDER #2=180
CYLINDER #3=180
CYLINDER #4=180

Any who my question is that will cylinder #1 become more consistent as the temp in the motor rise (ie:warms up)??

Any thoughts at all would help thanks.

It shouldn't Matter. Try putting a teaspoon of oil in the #1 cyl and try the test again. if it goes up then there's something wrong.

The numbers may raise just a couple points due to the metals expanding, but i would say that you definately have some sort of fatal issue there. I would suggest a leakdown to determine the cause of the lower numbers. Hope that helps

I'm in agreement with hrcDSM719. If compression is not close to even across the board, even when cold, there is an issue.

sounds like "no good deal"

Doesn't matter if it's cold or hot, a difference of that much between cylinders is a problem.

Werd, definately an issue.

yuuuup! Figure anything out yet?

**BTW, I wasnt emplying that the temperature of the engine would change the problem, only that the numbers would be higher accross the board. But, still pretty bad.
