Just got the final copy yesterday. I beat the single player mode today. That game is pretty damn sweet though. On a bunch of the levels I forgot that I was supposed to be killing people, and instead looked around. The game looks pretty amazing I think. There is one map that even at the lowest quality settings brings my framerate down to about 15 or so.

15!!! Dear god....

I have been reading about the Nvidia conspiracy theories surrounding that game...funny stuff. I'm not a real big UT player so I'm not sure I'm going to get it...I would if I had broadband...but no.

Anyway...what flavor of video card do you have? and at what resolution? 4xAA or something?

anything below 35 fps is unplayable in a FPS in my opinion...but I guess I'm a geek like that ;)

If anyone who has this game wants to do me a huge favor (haven't bought it yet) take a look at the map editor that comes with it and see what kind of formats it exports to. I haven't been able to find any good resources on this on the net... and i'm trying to decide on an editor to use for my 3d engine... the old unreal editor for UT tourn kicks ass but it doesn't quite compare feature wise to the quake 3 one... if the UT 2003 one is good i might just figure out how they are storing the maps and use that data....

I gotta upgrade my geforce2 card - it just crawls along...

However, at least in the demo, the OpenGL version for linux hauled butt! Stab directx!

I just hope that a playable linux version comes out someday soon...

Until then, I can live with windows from time to time. Sweet game.

My Athlon 2100+ should smoke that game, just now I need an Awesome video card like the Geforce 4 or ATI 9600.

Geforce 2 with an Athlon XP 1600 overclocked to 2200. I was running the game at 800x600x32 no AA, and normal on all of the detail settings. It was fine on most of the maps, but there is one in particular that kills it.......
