Hello, my name is Shawn Cella and I am the owner of Road Runner Carpet. I have created this post to introduce myself and explain some general aspects of what I do.

There are some differences between Road Runner Carpet and the competition. We offer a superior service crafted over the course of more than 20 years by my father, and then by myself. We have always been primarily a commercial carpet cleaning company that did few residential jobs. I have shifted the direction of things to be oriented towards efficient carpet cleaning at a great price for everyone!

The equipment

The portable machine I use is the Mytee top of the line 1005DX featuring 3 stage vacs, for maximum suction; and is adjustable up to 450psi for use with any kind of carpet or upholstery.

There are 2 different wands I use on your carpet. The first will be the Rotovac. (Please watch the demonstration from Rotovac on this forum for a comparison on a heavily soiled carpet). The second is the traditional wand used for maintenance cleanings. Maintenance cleaning is easier on the carpet pile because the traditional wand is easier on the fibers. This is the best way to guarantee a long life for your carpet. I recommend setting up a maintenance schedule with us, which will be conveniently tracked for you.

The chemicals

Our detergent of choice is an emulsifier. It is similar to the detergent that you would use to clean your clothes, which uses enzymes to break up the stains. All detergents we use are free rinse. This is very different from the shampoo that is used with rented machines. Anyone who has tried using a rented machine knows how the dirt just comes right back. Dirt sticks to the soap because it is never rinsed completely from the carpet. Therefore, the dirt from your shoes sticks to the carpet. This causes the carpet to foam up each time it is cleaned there on after. Our detergent will never leave a residue, and is mixed with a pH balance anti-foam agent which will aid in the removal of all soap left from previous cleanings. This is what is used in the machine for the steam cleaning of your carpet.

I also have a few great products that will remove many different kinds of stains. You name it, chances are I can get it out.

Pet stain and odor removal is available should you need it. I use odor kill which uses specialized enzymes to break down the stain, and leave a fresh scent behind.

The chemicals I use are all safe for your pets and for your kids. My detergents completely free rinse much like the detergent you use to clean your clothes. Once the carpet is dry, there will be no traces left behind.
