'00 SI Stolen (black)

Yea, but LoJack keeps fucking me over.

I am going to guess that they'll find it via LoJack in some parking lot within 10 miles from here sometime within the next 4 hours.

At that point they'll tow it to the impound and let me know.

I'll get to pick it up then and take it to Toby, and pay for the repairs. I'm guessing these guys will do a lot of damage since they broke the window and are probably amateurs.

Of course, maybe 3rd times a charm. We'll see...

Only thing I'm pissed about is that it was stolen from Denver, so if Denver is handling it (if it's found here as well) then they won't do anything. The first time it was stolen (arapahoe county) they did a really good job. They kept it for a week searching for evidence, even though it was likely there was none. 2nd time when Denver PD was on the case they found it in someone's closed garage, with a wrench on the dash with the exact size needed to remove the license plate, and the back plate was off. They basically asked the guys there if they stole it, they said no, and that was that. (Even though they could of easily found some evidence if they wanted to)

I asked the officer if they took a report if they had some kind of punch card or anything that when filled out means they actually put effort into making an arrest. Or, if as a homeowner (paying more taxes) I now get some kind of better package with more options.

feh..prolly get stolen only twice instead of 3 times. :( That freaking sucks paul, hope you have rental coverage on your insurance, I know I was glad I did when my car got hit by the tornado and when my Si got stolen..I dont worry about it so much now with my Audi..but I still pay the $30/yr for rental coverage. :p

Maybe we should just build a lojack tracker and we can go find it..drag it out somewhere and set fire to it? Its amazing how much of a pain in the ass it is to go thru all that stuff.

The car was found in a vacant garage north of 6th between sheridan and federal.

It has roughly the same amount of damage as the other times (steering column busted) but also has the drivers window missing. The cops were much better about it this time. They came out and dusted for prints (found one partial) and were able to get some DNA from blood on the steering wheel (probably from a cut from the broken window). They are going to run that and see if it matches, they said if the person it belongs to isn't in the system yet, it's likely that they will be sometime in the future, and at that point it will flag them to the stolen car.

Probably, I'll have to see how much they are this time. The damage to the steering column doesn't seem as bad, but I'm not sure what it costs to replace a window.
