:drink: The lever that the cable pulls up on for the release bearing was'nt able to move but an eight inch either way, pulled the trans and now it moves like normal, what would that harm, or effect? How would the clutch even work if it was all the way out full time?

Damn you! I was supposed to start a thread on this. I still will.
After you left, I played with the trans a little, and its moving notchy, and will stay up sometimes (and the release bearing stays out). I played with the other one and it moved smoothly. Hrmm. I'm wondering if we should just pop the other trans in there.
Otherwise, thanks Ted! Awesome job, and you definently called the problem before it was pulled.

Can you even depress the pedal when it is all hooked up? Have you made sure the release bearing is installed correctly and lubed?

It seemed to have worked fine, maybe was a little hard when releasing the clutch. The throwout bearing seems shot, Can the release bearing come off the shaft it slides on?

If the bearing is bad and the clutch is bad it can slide off the end, but its pretty rare. I would get a new bearing and clean the shaft off and lube it with anti-sieze or high temp grease and try it again. As long as you know the clutch is good. When you are doing this check the shaft on the tranny, sometimes they get all messed up when the bearing goes bad and starts to hang up on the shaft.

Have you checked the vtech fluid?

The vtech in my car has wonderful reception, so I don't think that is the issue. I will double check the vtech resoivoir later though.

Thanks!I jsut gotta buy all the seals and crap. I am thinking that the failure occured because of all the oil that got into the clutch area and gummed up all the shit. Either way, I've got another just sitting around so I'm gonna get a working tranny darnit!
