So what happens when you have some car geeks sitting around talking about what possible NEW ricer trend we could start? Well...let me tell ya...it involved 940ish mini christmas bulbs and 2 sheets of foamcore craft board...2 hours of time..and guess what we ended up with!?!?

Scary isnt it?

Its quite a LOT brighter than it looks...believe me..look what happens when I let the camera try and auto-adjust for all the lighting? Gives you a better idea of how scary this thing is...

Anyway..its the first thing thats going up to decorate our apartment to celebrate the holiday season. The new trend is called..."houserice!" Anyone else care to particpate? Maybe some rope-light Honda logos?

Honestly, we were going to do something a little more simple..but this was pretty cheap..and it looks really funny from the street. So if you are in the neighborhood (broomfield) drive on thru and check it out....guarantee you'll at least get a laugh out of it. Best of all...we are FAR from done...

*edit* the outline of the "R" is red chaser lights...it really adds to the effect...quite ricey. Good stuff...hard to tell whats going on in the picture.

Get that electric blowoff valve and hook it up to your phone. Then put the electric turbo in the heating ducts. And finally, get some nice, big, shiney muffler for your dryer exhaust.

not quite, its about 10x as big as a lite bright

tobi, i think it cost around 40 total for all the lights and stuff, i wonder how hard it would be to hook it up in the back window of the car :)

fun isnt it? the longest part of the project is laying out the font and shape on the board. ours is actually VERY close to the real Type R logo size.

Not quite sure there is $40 in parts there..I was thinking $30 maybe..its a fscking LOT of lights however..and its really, really, bright. :)

i have a 36" wide plotter at work, i could probably plot the outline as well as all points for all the light holes & it'd be perfect! then it probably wouldnt take so long to make one
