I was on my way to New Castle past Glenwood Springs with my brother at about 7:30 on Friday night. We had just gone through the big tunnel in Glenwood Canyon that has construction going on in it. As we come out of the tunnel there is a van in front of us.

All of the sudden out of the corner of my eye i see a giant rock tumble off the cliff on to the road right in front of the van. I would guess the rock weiged at least 400 lbs. They slam on their brakes and miss it and pass through. I slam on my brakes but quickly realize that I am not going to stop before I am being rained on by rocks so I slam on the gas. Luckily we came out alive, just shaken up a bit. My car got messed up a bit, but it could have been a lot worse.

I also forgot to mention that the rock that hit my wheel hit it hard enough that it broke my upper ball joint.

Glad everyone was alright, man. Could have been a much worse situation.

Good lord. Glad you came out of that relatively ok. I used to live up in the GC and I have seen a LOT worse. :(

Thanks everyone. Yeah it could have been a lot worse, if we were a couple seconds faster getting through that tunnel I probably wouldn't be here right now. Luckily that one big rock was the only one that size, all the others were just small one following the big one.
