My girlfriend's car (2001 Toyota Corolla) e-brake light will turn on for not apparent reason. It usually happens when it is cold out (mornings), but not in the afternoon. It tends to turn off more when after she makes a turn (when the blinker was on)

She took it to Stevinson West Toyota and the guy there told her that her brake fluid was low. He checked her fluid and it was fine and said the problem was fixed. After doing nothing but check the brake fluid level.

Any ideas of what is wrong?

Jason

On a side note, he brake pedel also squeaks when you push it in. The squeaking hasn't been too noticable lately. And the squeaking did start before the e-brake light started coming on.

I know what the problem is, she didn't buy a honda! just kidding. No idea, but maybe take it back to Stevenson or another dealer until it gets fixed under warranty.

i gave her some grief for not buying a civic. but she got a really good deal for her corolla. The salesman misquoted the price of the car so she got it for 15K.

I hate Stevinson Toyota. My mom and Dad bought a car from there and it broke down like 2 days later.

Well I've never heard of any problems with Stevinson Lexus.

When I worked at Medved, one of the guys I knew always told this story about how he sold a brand new Jeep and it broke down on the highway right infront of the dealership when the guy was leaving. Sometimes the dealer has nothing to do with bad cars.
