Awwwwww! She's so cute! Such a happy baby! The last one is my favorite. I will have pics up of my new son one of these days....any day now in fact....the waiting is hard! :D How is being a Dad been going?

It's been difficult. I feel like I have no time for myself. Then, when I take time for myself, I'm accused of being selfish. I also don't have a knack for saying everything I do so the baby will learn better. Makes me feel like a really shitty parent.

Oh man Stu, don't be so hard on yourself. Its not easy, but you will get there. She is not the only one who will be learning ;) It takes time but I know you will get the hang of it. Don't feel guilty for time to yourself every once and a while, its good for your well being which in turn calms the baby since you are calm. As far as the saying what you are doing so she can learn, make it fun. Thats what I did/do. I like to sing it out sometimes. My kids hear about every 3rd word until I start to sing. Then they join in...its pretty amusing to us anyway. I find that if I don't make it seem like work then it won't be. You're a good guy Stu, very intelligent. I have no doubt you will be an excellent father. You have lots of time to practice buddy! :D

Thanks. I'm not even with the baby right now, and my dumb ass is still awake (mostly playing with movies and photos on my computer, so it's partially your fault). I'm going to feel like shit tomorrow. :)

LOLz Its okay, you can blame me buddy! But you have to do it so that you DON'T feel like shit tomorrow! :D

It gets easier once they start walking and saying words. It feels alot less like being a baby sitter and starts to feel more like being a dad.

Except then you're constantly chasing them around and can't just sit down. :)

Sounds like you need to revisit the third link on this thread.

AHh fatherhood! Im not a father, nor am I expecting to be one anytime in the near future, but my Chick has a 2 year old and IM slowly but surely learning. The best part for me is when I can sit there and actually teach him something. The fact that he retains the knowledge is so overwhelming. Of course when he was much younger, it was not the same. Good Luck and you have a beatiful child!

very cute =)

Kids are great, but what a huge responsibility. I love my little nephew (he's 18 months old) we watched him a couple of weeks ago and DANG... he kept us busy allll evening long. He talks alot, and likes to explore stuff in the house. But between trying to keep him entertained and happy and getting him to eat it was pretty tough. He's good though, so he doesn't cry and he's overall a really happy little kid. I can't imagine if he was a brat! That would make things sooo much harder.

He's pretty smart, he kept pointing to his head, ears, nose and toes and said each part as he pointed to it. He also loves cars and makes "vrooooom" sounds when he pushes them around on the floor. I can't believe how fast he's learning :)
