Yeah I dont use paypal anyways. I dont even use banks. My sock droor is my bank. The only insurance/money protection I have is a 80 lb pit bull and a smith and wesson.(All has been well for years now)

Ive read stuff about them before on sites like this. Not hard to believe actually. Sad, but unfortunetly true the things they can and will do to you, your account, and your money.

Stashing all of your money in a drawer is less than wise. Some, or even most I might be able to see, but not all. At least buy a safe.

Well I do have a safe actually(for money and Car titles). Then I hide the safe. To be honest I dont even have a sock drawer, or a dresser for that matter. I keep all my socks in my safe with my money(not really)
For a while I didnt have a safe though. Then I realized that it would be insanily easy to find, or even accidently stumble upon the cash stash. Now I need to upgrade to a large floor safe. Something that someone couldnt carry out.

Paypal has fucked me over on trying to get refunds from scammers. That's about it. When buying stuff, I strictly deal in paypal funds because money orders are untraceable.

They have locked me out to before, selling PS3's with a huge mark up to much money going in and out those bastards took me over 2 weeks to clear it all up and get my money.
Now I dont let anything sit as soon as I get paid or have any money in there I take it out with the paypal ATM card down the street and the I have a seperate bank account attached to it that never has more than $10 in it. Because of the shaddy shit they do.

I use Paypal to buy things, but I do not accept Paypal payments from people for this very reason.

The only time i got screwed is when they pulled out my $ because the buyer claimed the ecu i sold him didn't work. Gave me the run around like a mofo. Guy didn't even send the ecu back until i found his phone # and stalked his ass.

Yeah, that's one of the major problems with Paypal......

I don't want to jinx myself but I use it all the time. I've been using it frequently since the 1st week they started. I tend to just use it to pay for things I get via Ebay and use it to send and receive money on some local sales too.

I use it alot to pay for/be paid for auctions. I've never had a problem, but I have heard horror stories.

This is why I don't use ebay. There is some super cool stuff on there, but with all the scams it is very hard to want to do any business online. They will come out with another payment system which will then be exploited by the scammers again eventually. Local cash deals FTW.

I don't mind doing business on eBay, I just make sure someone has positive feedback before I bid. Plus, I don't buy any high dollar items so it's ok for me.

Not using banks is as dumb as using paypal. Interest FTW.

Werd up. I don't see how people function without a bank account these days. I know I couldn't do it.

LOL well you would certainly learn how to function without a bank account if you had to. Its amazing what we could give up if we "had" to. Some people just like to keep their finances in the dark. Not so sure most would understand.

i've also never had problems with paypal... i've had one instance where i had an intermittent connection when buying something, i disputed with my bank. got the funds refunded by the bank, and paypal paid my bank. that was like 5 years ago.

Believe me, I most certainly do understand. I lived by myself in extreme poverty for 2 years downtown. I barely made it out, but I did. I didn't have any account at that time, but it wouldn't have helped me anyway since i was hardly getting any money together period. Now that I have a good income, and money that I have saved it became necessary to get the account. I wanted to get a house, new truck, and some other things that would not have worked out if I didn't have an account. The house would have been way harder to deal with than the car I'm sure. I don't let ol' Uncle Sam see ALL of my money, but he does have to see something.

Seriously hard to argue with 5%+ return.

werd. it's insured.
Sending payment I always use my credit card via Paypal, if you get a false item and they don't get your money back then its chargeback.
Where its got me is receiving funds. They have no protection for the seller whatsoever. You send out the item with tracking and signature confirmation. Buyer receives and disputes and they automatically withdraw funds without your consent or notifying you then it puts your account in the minus and thats how scammers get free parts.

Compared to a 75% percent return? I think not! J/k
5% is good money for not doing a damn thing. Problem arises with inflation, but still I feel ya. Im not trying to convince anyone, just saying that my situation is much much different. Thats okay though one day, I will need that account.

I've only had problems filing a dispute with them than having them tell me, Hey your 30 days are up, you're fucked! Than losing money. I only deal in small funds now because it's not worth the risk. They have quite a few holes within it's system.
Having a bank is good but you deal with charges, fees and other stupid shit banks charge. Savings now a days is pointless because your interest rate can't even keep up with inflation. They say to get rich you should put $100 in your savings every month. What they don't tell you is that you have to pay taxes on what money you have in savings and what you made on interest. 401K is good but is a long term investment. You run the risk of penalties (nearly half of what you take out) and taxes if you decide to withdraw before maturity.
