This is one of my co workers cars...He recently had an off road excersion with it, and did some damage to the body. Best I can tell, he messed up the front bumper, fender and door are both dented and should be replaced...prob could just reskin the door and it would be fine. I was thinking about buying it, but I just have WAY too many projects right now to have another. Very sweet car, and he is a toyota tech, so its been very well taken care of. Its on 17 inch wheels as well, and t tops. The cat is physicaly there, but it is gutted.Heres his email to me...I'll post some pics up tomarow when I get them from him. Hes kinda in a hurry to get rid of it, hence the price...
My '91 MR2 had a broken speedometer cable when I
bought it at 95,000 miles. I fixed it then and now it
has a little over 146,000. It's been well maintained
since. It lacks a catalytic converter and will not
pass emissions at this time. The 3rd gear synchro is
a little touchy under high rpm's but it will shift
smoothly at all other times. I suspect one of the
right hand ABS wheel speed sensor rings has a damaged
tooth because the ABS will momentarily engage at 2-3
mph, just before coming to a stop. The right rear
wheel is somewhat bent but intact due to the crash,
in addition to the damaged body panels. It also needs
the right front caster adjusted, although toe,
caster, and camber are within spec on the other three
wheels.
On the brighter side, it's been upgraded to a 3"
catback Berk Technologies exhaust, a Berk sidemount
intercooler, lowered with TRD springs, struts are
adjustable KYB's, it's got a manual boost controller,
fuel-cut defenser, K&N cone-style air filter,
intercooler water mist system, Greddy turbo timer,
Autometer boost gauge, and match-ported intake and
exhaust manifolds. The turbo is getting tired, but
the engine is primed for a nice turbo upgrade.
I haven't got a good program to resize my pictures
of it, so I'll bring a memory stick to work tomorrow
that you can use to put photo's on the web.
