Brake light not working

I was getting on the highway the other day and heard a horrible crackling sound.

I pulled over to check it over real quick to see if anything shattered or broke, I didnt see anthing out of the norm.

Then my girlfriend was following me later that day and noticed my light wasnt coming on when I applied the brake.

Then it dawned on me that the sound could have been the wiring frying up from a short.

Has this happened to anyone? I just want to try anything before I bring it to rocky mountain, its always a week lond wait

maybe a relay> ? or a simple fuse? when my rear brake light went out i had to trace wires, had a crimp in a wire that fixed it going through and repairing it.

definitley fuses #1, and tracing wires #2. Im sure you can do it yourself and save a ton of money

and testers are cheap, i have one i ve used numerous times its well worth the investment.
