when you go to AIT you will be down in San Antonio TX. Dont party to hard. As a 68W you have a chance to specialize in different things like Othropedic tech, Eye Tech etc. Just make sure if you get stationed at a hospital like myself you take advantage and go to school since the Army pays for 100% college

Basic isn't bad. Like someone else said, just try and fit in. Don't stick out or you'll get steamrolled. Pay attention in basic too. Don't take any of it personally either. The DS's job is to weed out the retards in the first 3 weeks, so they are super harsh on everyone during that time. Don't volunteer for anything. Let some other schmuck volunteer. My senior DS didn't even know I was in his platoon until the last week of basic. It was smooth sailing for me. Good choice on an MOS too... always try and stay in something you can do on the civilian side. All the 18 series guys I work with leave the army with nothing to do except dangerous personal security jobs and shit. Oh, and get the highest level clearance they'll let you. Everyone gets an S now, but a TS is worth about 10K a year to employers. Congrats again

SSG Dorey.

Wow! He speaks! I don't know you and you don't know me but I have a lot of respect for what you are doing. I have a brother on the U.S.S. Enterprise right now with the Navy. It sounds like you will do what needs to be done to fight for our freedom! Good luck out there, I wish you a safe return. HOOOAAAAAHHHH!

7 days, getting a little nervous but I have upped how many push ups I can do and I have been running a lot more. I am a lot faster then before and sit ups are easy. I think that I will do fine, but I think I should use the Going to the Army line on some girls lol.

Oh and when you do get to go to Iraq you'll probably smack yourself for not goin airforce. Those bastards live the good life there. You know... for the 3 months that they get deployed.

Im in the Army, and i'm in Iraq now. It's really not that bad. The money is good, and I work on huge trucks, so at least its fun. I was in the operational Army for only 4 months before I was deployed.

why does everyone all-of-a-sudden love this idiot, because he joined the army? he is still a moron.
I'm not saying the military isn't an noble cause, but come on HAI this is TORRNERRE we are talking about, the biggest moron we have ever seen in this fourm.

I am CPR certified and I will be an EMT in about 6 weeks now. 68W in 15 weeks. I had an APFT and got a 264, I did 70 Push ups but he counted 58, 68 Sit ups and 13:00 Run for my 2 mile. I was rather pissed off. I hope to get a 300 next time.

Great job on the push ups and the run. I have a difficult time doing even 40 pushups. How much do you weigh?

Those are pretty good numbers, I can only do like 1/4 of those, haha

the key to good APFT pushups is to look forward, and not at the ground. It'll keep you from not going down far enough. Good stuff though man (i mean private). Know what unit you are going to when you are done with whiskey school? Are they teaching TCCC there yet? I hope so... teaching a bunch of people retarded civilian medic stuff for trauma wounds is bad news.

when you decide to go to 18D school, let me know. I know a few of the instructors there.

They also want me to take the DLAB, so I am smarter then some. I reather do that 35 series MOS instead of the 68W.

don't let that get to your head. They offer that to most folks because the 35 series MOS is in demand now, and they'll try to push anyone through it (I'm a 98G(A)/35P). Just my .02, wait until you finish AIT and get to your duty station before you take the DLAB. If you pass, you'll get more opportunities for duty stations once you've had one. If not, you'll end up doing arabic in iraq, or korean in (duh) korea. It would be cooler to do field station work in hawaii or something.

Also, just a note, if you are a 35P, and want to go airborne eventually, you WILL be put in an SF group, and you had better be able to hack it (I am in 19SFG). If you do go there, and you don't perform, you'll get fired very quickly. Just so you know, and if you end up in my group, god help you!

:werd: I don't see anything better coming from those who are talking shit to him. I found his automotive adventures funny too, but that's no reason to talk crap to him and put him down. I don't agree with how our military is currently being used, but I can still at least respect our troops, because at least they're doing what they believe is right.

The best thing now is I have money to do those crazy Ideas. I am going to get another bike soon but there are other ideas that I may try to do. Also I have been doing well. Not A15 and on my PT test today I got a 12.45 2 mile and a pt score of 278. Not to be. 74 sit ups and 63 pushup

I did better but I still missed the 300. I got 77 Pushups, 75 sit ups and 12:50 2 mile run. I get the PT medal but I only got a 293. I need to work on my situps. I was really disapointed. I am going to Korea soon for my duty station. Operation "speed Bump". I will try to put in for my OCS packet as soon as I get there. I want to a LT. I do not care if I make it past CPT. I am MOS qued now too. I am a medic, Now for the morphine, 5 mg of the next 10 min hooahh. Wish me luck, I hear that I will drink alot and get a korean wife. We will see.
