Yes, and it apparently works pretty well. People have been doing that for about 7 years now.

Been there, done that...like 5 years ago. Anyway, its a fun project, but you can buy antennas almost anywhere that are like 100% more reliable and less directional that will pick up the same amount of signal.

The problem with things like these are the microwave transmission line you need..it gets pretty expensive really fast, and cant be run very far.

ah the good ol cantenna. Yes, they work. No, they're not worth it anymore. Just go get a yagi and call it a day. I'm actually bouncing wifi from my appartment all the way out to the restaurant/work and back to the apartment using a chain of Yagi's and repeaters.
