OK so after tracing all the wire back on my buddies swap and rerouting the battery we finally got the ECU to read the CEL and its the Knock Sensor.

We checked the wiring a million times and everything is perfect. It is a B16A into a 5th gen Civic DX Coupe. He has adeed the urethane bushings into the mounts and the motor is stiff as hell could this be doing that? The motor is stock straight from H-motors and the car and components are stock injectors, pump etc. The CEL come on around 7000RPM or so. Could the Sensor be going bad? If not what could be causing the issue?

Confused cause I never had this issue with any of the other swaps I have done. The only thing different is his mounts, as always any and all help is greatly appreciated! Search is down on HT too:frown:

Could be the knock sensor itself - they are just a "microphone" tuned to a specifi frequency. Is there any lifter/lash adjuster noise?

How old is the motor?

Did you go through the manual's knock sensor diagnosis yet? It will tell you pretty quickly if it is the sensor or the wiring.

Should be the same with the exception of the connector numbers and wire colors.
