View Full Version : Open dump-tube ride...eek

Holy shit, the car sounds like one of those indy cars with the open dump....top end pulls sooooooooo much harder than full exhaust. Low end was defenitly worse but the top end makes up for it big time. Once you hit 3500 rpm's........hold on for dear life. I am very confident that this mod will help considerably in the quarter mile:Beer: I will be useing a friend drag radials tommorrow so hopefully tommorrow will be the 13 second day:C I hope they don't make me cap the dump tube up after i make a couple passes;) I would recomend this mod to anyone that wants to get everything they can out of the stock turbo.

Also...my buddy terry from mountain states motors will be racing with us tommorrow at club clash. he has a awp gti w/ mbc, 3" down pipe, tt cat back, and blitz bov....You guys can ask questions about the boost controler cause i know some of you guys are thinking of useing one.....thats if anyone shows up this time:Peace:

engine code for 2002 gti....aww for 2001 and awd for 2000 and some 2001...

hmm, take me for a ride sometime... If it's nice, maybe I'll get a dump tube on my next factory turbo car

I love my dump tube, turbo spools incredibly fast and pulls really hard at the top end.
BTW, Make sure you don't REV when your waiting in line etc. so hopefully they won't hear the open exhaust.

I have a awp turbo on right now...yeah i wont be doing any revving in the staging lanes at all. It is acturaly realy quiet at regular idle...its when i hit 1500 rpm's that you start to go deff;)

Who ended up doing the dumptube? Which dumptube did you buy? Where did you place it on the downpipe?

I got the dump from ontrack performance off of dartmoth and santa fe...i turns out that the dump helped alot...i traped 98mph all day at idrc on 22" slicks. I bet i could hit a 100 on street tires...

somehow I ended up not hearing your car run ALL day? Hrmm..I can imagine its pretty cool to make the domestics deaf in a little import.
