A couple days ago my xps was working fine. but now after i installed new updates it wont go past the windows xp screen and it will jsut sit there. Then sometimes it will go to a blue screen and say driver_qrxs_not_less_and_or_equal....what that mean? do I have to reformat my computer? cuz im about to cuz its really getting to me. but i dont want to lose all the stuff i have on it.

You will have to start it in safe mode and restore to an earlier time.

Tried that, it will start then just stop when it's loading all that stuff. I tired a million times, and I haven't gotten anywhere. I'm using my moms laptop right now and im watching the windows xp for like the millionth time.

That sux, you might wanna try and get in there with safe mode and try and back up your stuff and reload it. I am sure there is a way to deal with that, but I wouldn't waste my time with it. My tablet did that after an update once and it was never the same after that so I had to just reload it. If you downloaded and installed any programs lately, you might try and use safe mode to remove the program or programs you may have installed that could be causing this issue first, however it might be time for a fresh start.

Ouch, BSODed.

In most cases, it's honestly better/less of a headache to just start over. look for the recovery CD's that came with the computer. If they came with none, there may be a recovery partition on your harddrive.

If doing a full recovery doesn't work, it most likely is a hardware issue, which blows. Sounds like just a software prob that a reformat/reinstall using the recovery cd's will take care of though.

First thing I'd do would be to run memtest86 from a bootable CD. Once you are feeling good that your memory is good, maybe it's time to reload windows.

Which A/V are/were you running? Have you considered something besides windows, perhaps linux?

I will try those options which were posted and get back to you. I have to work 11 hours today so it will be late when I post.

Did you let Windows Update download new drivers or only critical updates?

That error obviously sounds like a driver issue, which shouldn't be touched unless you are downloading non-ms stuff from Microsoft.

Not sure though.
