If anyone is thinking about buying Roxio's Easy Media Creator 9, you might as well just throw your money into a fire. The older versions were apparently good, but this one is just plain pathetic.

I installed it and then my computer wouldn't boot, not even in safe mode. It would just go into an endless loop of rebooting itself. The only option to get it to actually boot Windows is to use the last known good configuration, but none of the Roxio apps will even attempt to function after that, so all you can do is uninstall it. This is with a pretty recent load of Windows XP SP2. So then I try to go to their support website that's printed on the CD jacket, but that doesn't even work. So instead I go to Roxio.com and click on their support option and go to register, only to discover that it's broken too! What a fucking worthless software company! I went to their support forum and discovered that many other people are having the same problem, as well as an assortment of other major problems.I would just return it and get my money back, but damn Circuit City doesn't do returns on software... only exchanges for the same software title, which is completely pointless.

Needless to say, I don't think I'll ever buy a Roxio product ever again. What a pile of crap!

I didn't know people still used that shit. Roxio fucked everything up after they bought Adaptec.

Nero FTMFW!

The only reason I bought it was for the video editting. I needed something that could handle multiple video streams and do picture-in-picture. I was sick of half-assing things with Windows Movie Maker. Everything that could do what I wanted was $99 or more... I figured I could trust a well known brand name like Roxio, plus all the other features would be cool, but I was wrong. I'm in the process of restoring Windows to a clean install plus patches and seeing if I can get it to work then... What a pain in the ass.

If you want good video editing software and don't wanna pay for Adobe, look into the Pinnacle stuff. I used to use that a couple years back, and it was awesome! Much easier than Adobe Premiere, and just about as powerful.

I hate that stupid Roxio crap too! I just got my wife a new laptop and that crap is in there right now. I had to figure out how to get it to burn an AVI which means it has to convert as well as burn which takes all damn night. I am not sure what to check out but I will be looking into this Disc Juggler, thanks Deceptakahn.

Never heard of Disc Juggler - I'll have to look into it. I currently use DVDFab HD Decrypter to extract data, DVDShrink to reauthor, and ImgBurn to write ISOs to media.
