View Full Version : Car won't start!

I went to the gas station and filled my car up. It filled up to 13.9 gallons. I started up my car and the ABS light was sort of blinking. Then all my other cluster symbols came on. I revved my engine and the tach wasn't working. I kept on pushing the gas for a couple seconds and then everything went off and it worked fine.
I got home and turned my car off. I tried to turn it back on to make sure everything was fine. It didn't start.
I turned the key and the car started to rev, but once I let off the key, the car died.
I know my battery is good. Brand new.
I have no clue how to approach this.

its one of two things. either the A/F mixture is off, or the ignition system.
check all your fuses, could be something as simple as that.

I checked all my fuses. When you say A/F mixture, how does that get messed up with out manually adjusting it.

Same thing happened to me once. Left me stranded in Wyoming in the middle of the night. $275 tow bill. Coil wire came disconnected.

lots of diehard honda guys on this board I'm sure you could get someone to look at it for you if you cant figure it out. When my A/C froze up and my car wouldnt start I was freaking out...
When I had my Chevy and it did shit like that I just accepted it. I always expect my honda to start on the first try every day, every time. Oh the pains of reliability...

hey dude i might be going out on a limb here.. but i think you got a bad ignition switch,,
try holding the key just slightly against the spring(to start the car) when it starts... it will probably stay running...
if this is the case then you need the electircal portion of your ignition switch replaced...
hope this helps

This is exactly what happened. I already had it replaced. They replaced the part with the ignition switch of a 97gsr. The 95 that I have would've had to have the WHOLE system replaced. Re-keyed and all. This way I just got the swtich.
good lookin' out everyone. Thanks.
