Need rotors and pads for my car. I have found a few options. I can get Powerslot sloted rotors w/ or w/o cryo freezing and EBC Slotted and dimpled rotors. Is anyone here running either of them and if so what do you think of them. Im kinda leaning toward the EBC (maily because they are cheap) and they look kinda cool too. they are not drilled threw but they are dimpled, i know regular drilled rotors tend to crack and from what i understand the dimpled are going to be stronger and not crack (alteast as much).
Also i can get HAWK HPS pads or EBC Green Stuff or EBC Red Stuff pads. Any recomendations? i guess the red stuff are heavier duty then the greens...
Any feed back would be appriceated.

there are also ATE slotted rotors availible.... they look kinda wierd tho..

The whole idea of a rotor is to provide a surface for the pad to grab on to.
Now, when you add a bunch of these little "dimples", what does that do? It seems like it would only remove that surface the pad would usually go on.
My vote? Brembo blanks and some good pads.

Are you going to be running on a roadcourse with your car? If not I would go with stock rotors or Brembo blanks simply because slotting, dimpling and cross drilling do nothing but take away surface area and provide stress risers to create cracks. Cryo treating is useful, but only for cars that see high brake temps for extended periods. Otherwise, stock rotors and Hawk HPS pads will provide a lot more bite on the street and will handle heavier braking better than stock pads.

do the slots actually keep the brakes cooler? my car being so heavy tends to have a large ammount of brake fade and IMHO they are undersized to start with and i have the "Larger Stock Brakes"
Keep in mind im refering to the Monte Carlo

No, slots don't keep the brakes cooler. Why? The big reason is that they don't create enough surface area to help with convection. The vanes in your rotors do a much better job of that. Second, air is a much worse conductor of heat than metal is. You want the metal of the rotor to draw the heat to the inside of the rotor where you've got more surface area to convect the heat away. The only advantage for slotted is it will "wipe" the face of the pad preventing glazing.

here is a direct quote from powerslot. they say it runs cooler and vent in gases/dust from between the pad and rotor. I have spoke to a few other people with powerslots and have nothing but good things to say about them. And don't worp like stock rotors..... I guess they are cheap enough if i don't likem i can just pitch'em :)
"Power Slot rotors bring this technology to the street and are specifically designed to run cooler, promote dramatically improved wet and dry brake performance, and are a safer alternative to drilling crack prone holes through cast iron rotors."
"Starting with select castings manufactured in Italy and the U. S. , all Power Slot rotors are CNC machined to application specific tolerances that utilize a patent pending tapered-slot technology to create a vent for brake dust and pad gasses while preserving rotor strength."

Gassing doesn't occur on modern brake pads. If you've got a 66 MG with the original brakes you might have an issue ;). Unless Powerslot uses a different material than stock for their rotors with a better conduction coefficient they won't cool any faster than stock. Slots don't have any effect on cooling at all. I posted the only real advantages slotted rotors offer over non slotted. Anything else is marketing BS. Here's a good independent look at braking technology: http://www.superchargersonline.com/content.asp?ID=98
Like I said, if the slotted ones aren't that expensive, then try them out. But you'll see your biggest difference in stopping power with the correct set of pads. If you really want your brakes to be cooler, make some ducting to get more, cooler air to the brakes.
Here's something to read about warped brake discs too: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml
