When I bought my 88 rex si. they battery was re-rerouted (cheaply) to the rear of the car. Does anyone know where I can purchase an enclosure for the battery. Is there any tips on re-routing it, things that the person who did it originally may have missed, Must Do's that king of thing? Ive tried searching and didnt find much. Thanks
Search around for battery boxes. There are a lot of kits. You'll want it mounted in a box. Other then that I don't think there is much else to worry about.

Wallmart carries the black plastic battery enclosures believe it or not.. should be arround the jump starters
get some good battery posts (ebay has nice ones) and a nice low gauge copper wire (I try to use 4g but anything up to 8g should be enough) and put an inline amp fuse on it right after the battery so if that wire shorts out it'll just pop the fuse and not explode your battery in the trunk.. If any part of the wire might be exposed to high temps, prolonged vibration that might cut the wire or anything else considered to be a harsh environment then I would get some radiator hose same diameter as your cable.. slice the hose down the middle and it'll give you alot of extra shielding.
Its far best to run the wire inside the car under the carpet/trim and through the firewall than it is to try to string it under the car arround your exhaust and other bad things.. When you go through the firewall get a rubber grommet that fits the hole you drilled so years of vibration dont cut through the shielding.. at least take a dremmel with a stone and make sure no sharp edges through the firewall
another thing you should do is multiple grounds, since your not going to run a 2nd wire to ground to the motor I would run one ground to the chassis and another ground attach to an exhaust hanger since your ehaust pipe is a direct route to the motor block anywase..

if you plan into to go to bandimere there's a lot of rule you have to follow to run down there. It has to be a NHRA Certified box and mounted to the chasis.

Thanks You guys are awesome. Thanks a million.
Celica Man: That is actually where I got the idea for the box. Didnt even know they made them before then.
Dreadlocks: Well the ground wire is already going to the Block I think. But what your saying is that I should Run an additional ground to the Chassis? So Should I run another wire from the negative terminal to the chassis in the trunk? I think I will put a Distribution block and Do it from there. Where can I purchase 4g wire locally?(I need a nice long piece)
P.S. I dont plan on racing at Bandiamerebut running the battery from the back makes it worlds easier to run my stereo Equipment.

yea ground it to the chassis aswell, most people dont route another ground wire to the engine block and do one poor chassis ground.. but if you have a ground wire running all the way up to the motor ya might be better off putting your distro block under engine bay and ground it to like the starter, the block and the chassis... multiple grounds is a good thing, it'll help keep sensors and gauges accurate espically when running high power stero equipment.. I would look at getting battery posts with a distribution block built in to it if your running stereo equipment back there aswell.. makes everything cleaner.
I dunno where to get wire at locally, back where I am from I would go to Boeing surplus store and get there scrap wire (basically too short to use on an airplane) for almost nothing... If you go to an audio shop the'll charge ya an arm and a leg.. someone else will have to chime in on that.
