My wifes cuzin has a 99 eclpse gs with all the basic bolt ons intake, header, exhaust.....now he has $300 and no idea how to spend it on the next mod.......please help him...

The GS motor is a 420a, correct? Bummer. 4g63 ftmfw.

Nitrous would help.

Seriously.. the 420A's are NOT worth the money. Get a 4g63 6 bolt. So, like a first gen. Lol. I know from experiance... 420A's blow ass.

It's no simple chore swapping a 4g63 into a 3rd gen. I still stand by my suggestion of nitrous - a 50 wet shot would be a nice kick.

Those 420As have a weak bottom end that starts clacking in the Neons it was made to fit in with no mods and old ladys driving them. They have been known to take boost, but not for a very long time, and only at 5 psi or so. Tell your friend to polish that turd up real real nice and sell it and buy something with the 4G63 in it if he likes the Diamond Stars. Thats what I would do in that situation.

Exactly, my bottom end went to shit. Even after replacing the bearings, and polishing up the crank and what not. Motor lasted about 2 weeks, then started knocking again. Then, lasted about, meh, a month or so. 420A's are not worth the hassle.

i have a first gen for sale but its a talon turbo 1993 but if not an msd ignition always helps
