Well heres what my car is doing. First off when its not at operating temp the car revs up really slow and has no power and backfires. I start to get power on and off as it gets warm then I have power after its warm. The car also misses on a mid load in 4th and 5th gear. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I'm lost on what it could be. Please help thanks :)

did it just start acting up?or have you made any changes and this started after doing so..it kinda sounds like the timing belt is off a tooth, but not all those symptoms match though.
the only things that i know of that can make a honda backfire is timing related(ignition and cam/crank timing)
does the car rev to redline?or does it seem to top out at like 4500 rpm's?

My old Jetta did some thing like that and it was the coil pack going bad that caused it

When its cold it only revs to about 5000 but when its warm it revs to redline. No I have not made any changes to the car at all. I was thinking the IAC was the problem and also the disturbutor. Any thoughts?

Possible ditributor..............I will have to look in my manual when I get home...........prob a CKP, TDY sensor or something.......but not 100% positive.

did you try pulling codes from the ecu yet?
i would check that out before doing anything else.
there are 2 connectors behind the right(passenger kick panel)
these connectors are blue.. there is a 3 pin and a 2 pin connector
you need the 2 pin.. just use a paper clip to short these 2 together and turn the ignition key on.. the cel should flash codes at this point.. there are long flashes and short flashes.. count them separately...let me know.

i dont think the IAC could cause that kind of problem/symptom
possibly the disrtibutor may
i was thinking more like the TW sensor AKA coolant temp sensor
check for codes and go from there... if there are none you'll need a voltmeter/ohmeter for futher diagnosis.

one other thing to check real quick.. check the oil level.. there is a possibility that the vtec pressure switch is not working right or a low oil level can do it too

I already pulled codes and there was not any there. So any other thoughts on how to find out my problem?

You know what, now that I think about it, I think you're absolutely right.

I would most likely look toward the distributer as the culprit. I personally have experienced the same problem to a greater extent. Try tearing down the distributer and cleaning up and tightening up all major connections. Then replace both the cap and rotor and see how it runs. As for the backfire in higher gears, it sound like a combination of the garbage ignition system and the engine loading up on fuel. Any internal combustion engine can backfire so long as there is enough unburned fuel in the exhaust system.
