Motor Swap

Just curious, right now I have a 98 Civic with a D16. It is turbocharged. If I were to put a B16 or B18 in it what would I need to do with my I/C piping and exhaust manifold? What other mods would need to be done? Do I have to swap out the tranny and ECU? Just wanted to know, any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

do you have a FMIC? If so all you would have to change is the turbo to intercooler inlet side pipe. You need the engine, transmission, ecu, shift linkage, motor mounts, need to modify the wiring harness, and get an new exhaust/turbo manifold. The upper intercooler piping should work but the intake manifold on the b-series might be in a slightly different location.

If you end up getting a B18C1(GS-R) then your piping for sure probably wont work. If you get a B18B1(LS) or a B16(SiR) then the piping should work fine. Good luck with your project.

Oh yeah and BTW, what are you going to be doing with the turbo exhaust manifold from your D16? If your going to sell it let me know....i have a couple people interested in buying it.
