As with most I am unhappy with the way the war in Iraq is going...

My question here is...

Do you think that the president would do a better job if he didnt have to fight Democratic opposition the entire time?

Granted I understand that this isnt just a democratic opposition now... But this war was voted in by Congress... Do you believe they have a responsibility to support the president 100 percent after the vote?

No. I think Congress is finally waking up to smell the B.S. and telling Bush we won't keep wasting money over there.

I understand what you are saying... but do you think that the war could have or would go better with full support of congress?

Nope.

I can agree with most that Bush is a POS pres.... but I think that politics has made it so most presidents wont have a chance to succeed in major agendas... I believe in democracy but not complacency. I think that if a president is voted in or congress passes some law that the others should get in line and support it. With lack of a better term I think its a "bitch move" to sit there with no better idea and bitch about what you didnt support.

The Democrats tried to put on a little show like they're wanting to stop the war, but when it came down to it, they were the ones that caved in and gave Bush what he wanted. Not to mention that most of them gave up on impeachment once they got into office. That's probably why the approval rating of Congress is even lower that Bush's.

What we really need is decent politicians who will honor their promises and follow what they believe in... I care more about that than if they are Republican or Democrat.

agreed... but i dont think they should continue to quabble over issues if they lose a vote. It prevents progress!

Between Bush and Kerry, who would you say is the lesser of two evils?

Bushs ideology are what appeal to me... his ability to accomplish sucks...

I voted Bush solely because I was thinking of the troops... You dont want to change the commander and chief in the middle of a mission.

Bush wasn't able to accomplish much with a republican congress, I don't think it's fair to blame his failure on half a year of a democratic one.

i didnt blame it on congress... I just asked do you think he could have done better?

I really liked and agreed with what Ron Paul said. every war we went to with out a full declaration of war by Congress we have lost. Ron Paul opted that if we were going to be in Iraq congress needed to declare war, and we needed to go full force.

With all the lies that he has put out, I think the first person he lied to was himself. Bush and Cheney constantly break laws and are creating larger and larger government.

"Vice President Cheney exempted his office from the presidential order that establishes government-wide procedures for safeguarding classified national security information. The Vice President asserts that his office is not an “entity within the executive branch.” - Reported by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

They have their views and they are implementing them. It is time that America wakes up, which most have, and not allow this bullshit to continue.

We'll find out soon enough if the immigration bill will pass... I have written several e-mails to Sen. Allard thanking him for his votes of no on this bill that Bush wants to pass... I have also written e-mails to Sen. Salazar and President Bush letting them know how disgusted I am with their attitude towards immigration.

I have said it a hundred times, if someone wants to come into this country legally, learn our language and make an honest living and contribute to our society, WELCOME! But if you expect us to speak your language, allow you to wave your foreign flag and send money back to your home country so it can benefit your out of the country family please stay where you came from!!!

And any of you who thinks my views are racist please check out www.numbersusa.com. You will see that many people agree with my point of view... it's not racism. There are hundreds and thousands of people who have the SAME EXACT VIEWS as me. Some of them just too scared to admit it for fear of being called "racist"

I'm sick and tired of it and I hope they can kill this amnesty bill once and for all!

Just because people agree with you, doesn't mean you're not being racist.

P.S. I'm not actually calling you racist, because I don't think that having an interest in the well being of the national economy is racist.

Just because people agree with you, doesn't mean you're not being racist.

Well, I know that... ;)

I don't hate people for what they are (religion, race, etc; ) I hate them for how they act. There's trash in every group, I even despise white trash... I have friends of every race so I definitely don't hate someone just because of what they are.

I just really think that it sends a bad message to people if they pass this amnesty. It's basically telling people that it's ok to break our laws by being here illegally. And it's also a kick in the face to people who fight for this country and to people who did things right and came here legally.

Mark my words, if they pass this amnesty... the people who "do jobs Americans won't do" will be taking other jobs since they're now legal. And they'll do the same jobs for less money.

Not a good idea dumbass President Bush.

This sort of stuff bothers me.

Regardless of how much you disagree with what you probably don't know, do you really think you are smarter than the most powerful man on earth?

I really can't stand it when people call politicians dumbasses or stupid when they just don't agree with their politics. Nearly every politician on the national level is highly educated with extensive experience in a certain field. Much more so than the typical citizen.

Besides how much smarter most politicians are than you, they also have 10x more information than you. Research committees report directly to them, CIA reports directly to them, think tanks present strategy ONLY to them.

OK, I was basically agreeing with what you were saying and then adding my own opinion.

A lot of people think he's a dumbass so it's not just me... Just look at his approval rating. I think it speaks for itself.

Is he powerful? yes. But nowhere does it say in the requirements to be President that you have to be smart. I do understand that he has more education than me, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with him.

Here are the requirements:

Question: What are the requirements to become President?

Answer: The United States Constitution outlines the requirements for President in Article 2. This article of the U.S. Constitution also outlines the many powers of the President and Executive branch of government.

Section 1 of Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution states that a President must:

be a natural born citizen of the united States
be at least 35 years old
have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years
In addition, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that a President may not serve more than 2 terms of 4 years each, even if they have only served as President for 2 or more years of one of those terms.

Yes. Yes I am smarter than "the most powerful man on earth."
This argument was brought up on 1 of the other Pres. Bush threads and weston nailed it right on the head
Education doesn't make you smart, education provides the outlet to become smart. (i cant remember how he worded it, but that's close enough)

I work with PHD's; people that have been in school for 10-15 years. They don't know how to turn a computer on or off; nor do they know how to plug in a printer to a wall. They know how to make cars run on water, but they aren't smarter than me; in fact most of these "highly educated individuals" lack the common sense of a 16 year old.

.... none of them has resorted to making up words on national TV though
