XBOX360 HD HELP!!

alright i just bought a brand new 2008 mitsubishi 1080p tv... (no idea what the model number is) anyways i am using the component cables for the HD signal to my tv.. in my xbox console settings i choose 1080p, the xbox acts like it resets, and reverts to 1080i... help??!?!?!?!?

That was fast! Thought you needed HDMI to get true 1080p? Wish my TV would support it..! Damn early adopters! :)

ya... found out only certain tv's support 1080p over component cable... you ahve to use the vga and get a converter to hdmi to get 1080p.. lol.. damn microsoft

yeah only the new xbox elite has the HDMI connection.
