How is it getting fucked when you didn't read the policy? Do you honestly believe that they should cover car parts sitting in your garage?

if their in the trunk when it's stolen, then yes.

what,? they gotta be installed to be covered? renters says they where part of the car installed or not, car insurance says no,proably the same company for both. wtf

I consider it getting fucked when the agent blatantly lied to me, and then 6 months later i receive paperwork that tells me otherwise. I explicitly told her the only reason i want renter's insurance is for the parts and tools in my garage, and she swore up and down that it would 100% cover everything i had, regardless of what it was, and my auto policy would cover anything physically attached to my car. Then when I need to claim the loss, I find out that my parts are in a limbo zone, being covered by neither insurance when I was assured that they were.

Granted, I should have read every bit of my insurance contract. However, when asked a very, very specific question and assured by your agent that you are covered when you are not I do consider getting fucked.

And for clarification, I absofuckinglutely believe that they should cover the car parts sitting in my garage as I asked them several times and purchased policies that I otherwise wouldn't have in good faith that they would cover said parts as they had told me they would. For fucks sake I bought every fucking policy that they offered to ensure everything was covered, and even asked if there was anything else I could buy to cover my assets. Jesus fucking christ I followed her advice and am paying nearly $400 a month for one car with all the stupid bullshit addons that she told me I needed to ensure "100% complete coverage" which turned out to be absolute bullshit.

It's a shitty, shitty fucked up world when you have to treat every word that comes out of everyone's mouth as a blatant fucking lie. Perhaps that is the world we live in. I suppose you're used to fucking people over with blatant lies or are used to being lied to and fucked over constantly, but I am a firm believer in when someone gives you a firm and direct answer to a firm and direct question several times repeatedly it's the truthful answer.

I guess to be more fucking specific, I am seeking an insurance company or agent that will not fucking spit lies at me about what I am buying and what coverage I am going to receive when asking a direct question several times.

Do you have paperwork provided by your agent indicating that your coverage would be in place should stuff be stolen/etc?

You need to file an official complaint with the DOI (Department of Insurance) for her telling you the wrong thing.

I've got USAA and it's been good so far, but you only get it if your military or your family was retired military. I would definetly look into it though

I agree w/ Stu...you need to file a complaint w/ the Insurance Commissioner. As a former agent, i never said stuff was covered unless i found it in the policy and/or talked to a claims rep. She needs a little lesson on "oh, yea..your stuff is covered"....btw....what was her name?

I agree with barb agreeing with stu, but not stu himself.

Bump... my premium just went down with travelers...

Now i pay 1371/year for full coverage 100/300/100 and $500 deductible on 92 camry, 94 4Runner, 01 S2K. thats just a little over $100/month. I also have home owners insurance with them as well.
