I remember that bike. She sounded PISSED OFF.
I remember it as well. Wasn't personally my flavor of bike that *I'D* get, but it sounded mean. Looked too much like a toy for my taste.
Nothing like looking back at old toys and missing them like crazy, huh?

They're certainly different, that's for sure. I'm quite fond of the naked look on sportbikes... which is probably why I'm fond of the Lightning as well as the Duc Monster.
What do you think about this one? This is the Firebolt, and essentially the same bike but with more fairings:

Is that the bike that uses the frame as the gas tank or something?

Is there such a bike?
Since our Ridden & Rated on a preproduction 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9R in the March 2002 issue, we’ve put about 1,400 miles on a production sample. Everybody thinks the bike is enjoyable to ride and technically impressive, what with its 3.7 gallons of gas held in the aluminum frame and 3.5 quarts of engine oil in the cast alloy swingarm and all.

Oh wow. That's kinda cool.
Hmmm that one looks pretty cool, Chris. I'd own one.
Sounds like it could potentially cause balance and scavenging problems.

Fairings are over rated. They're just expensive when you dump it.

That Firebolt is one awesome machine. I like how the front disk looks, I'm guessing there is some reason it is that way. I also like how the rear does not have the real close fender on it.
yeah i was looking for a new bike and harley approved me for a new firebolt 12. but the payment wasnt to my liking. bike looked sweet.
