why? Firefox > safari

Care to back up your blank statements? Oh right.. it's Firefox, so it HAS to be the best.

I'll admit, it's still a beta and it's certainly better than IE7. But I bet it'll give Firefox a run for it's money here over the next couple years in terms of market share.

I think it's just that i'm so used to firefox that it'd be a huge pain in the ass to switch to anything else. On my Hackintosh, I use both safari and firefox, but I def prefer firefox.

For instance, when i'm scatterbrained and have a billion tabs up on the screen at once and have to go do something, i kill the firefox process. Later when I relaunch firefox it asks if i want to restore my previous session, and presto, all the pages i had up before are loaded back up, preventing me from having to bookmark a hundred pages I don't plan on ever visiting again.

It's also a way more scriptable browser with the extensions, so you can really, really build onto it. There's ways in a lesser extent to hack extensions onto safari as well, but nowhere near the scripting ability you have with FF. (check out stumbleupon, btw, fucking cool extension. i think there's a safari hack out for it too)

Think even IE7 is secure? There's still gaping holes in security that aren't there in Opera/FF/Safari.

IE users can check out http://milehighnightlife.com/IE7.png

Is completely safe, guaranteed, I wrote it a few seconds ago. Basically, it has script embedded in a PNG file, which is a picture file. IE completely ignores the embedded code and runs it anyway, giving you a pretty little pop up box. The Alert() code could easily be replaced with other malicious code which IE will run without question. With a bit more work, it would be possible to embed the code into a full image, and hide it well enough that the image itself doesn't get corrupted. SO, you go to a website on your trusty IE, click on a link to a cool picture, the picture loads, executes some bullshit code without you knowing, and you surf off, never knowing you were just compromised.

Isn't safari built from the mozilla code base?

I saw the light when I started using Firefox. 100 x's less crashing/errors. A little bit harder to develop websites with, but eh.. it's worth it.

For grins, I just downloaded it an loaded it up while sitting in a class. I'll play with it for a bit.

safari already has a zero day exploit on the win platform.

I'm hooked on firefox and the extensions that provide me with everything I need/want, FF is a step up from links haha.
