I beat a couple with a ZC that ran about a 17.2

My old '99 Si with just Eibach springs, short shifter, short ram cheapy intake, and a fart can ran a 17.000 (actual time).

I see... most Si's won't run that fast. I drove it pretty well, and for some reason my car weighed less than a lot of Si's I've seen weigh in with full interior. There had to have been a reason behind that; what it was, I'm not sure of.

If I remember correctly, a stock SI from that time was supposed to run a 15.7 or so at sea level with a good driver.

i think me best time with exhaust, short shifter and intake was like a 16.9 or 17.0

ya those si's are kinda making me sad cause they have a b16 in them and they are slow. my friends ex with a d16y7 ran 17.8 with badly slipping clutch. i still like them i just thought they would be faster than that with a b16 in them.

oh well what can you do:no:

There's nothing special about Si's versus EX's other than wheels, interior and a B-series.

thats true but what does that say about the b16's i mean i just dont understand i guess how come a b16 is just as fast as a d16. Can someone i guess fill me in

I'm not sure how their factory hp/tq numbers compare, honestly. So, I couldn't tell ya'.

I'm pretty sure those D16's are 135hp and the B16's are 160hp.

Though, at sea level and at the crank.

Which would seem to be about a 1 second difference to me, so that sounds about right.

The older D16's were 127hp, right? 99-00 Si's weigh a little more than the DX models, and even EX models I believe. Weight and driver are probably bigger factors.

Yeah, they are slow cause they are fat pigs.

EF's FTMFW

I think my four door EF weighs 2100 pounds or so. Not that it isn't a slow POS, but throw a B16 in it and it would run way better than a 17.x that's for sure.

I'm pretty sure the most powerful D series from factory was the D17A2 @127HP.
I know the Y7 is 106HP and the Y8 around 125.

Power range started from 62 hp (currently the smallest engine uses a 1.4 L 90 hp engine, code D14A4) to 135 hp. The D-series was introduced in 1984 and ended production in 2005 with the introduction of the 8th generation Honda Civic.

I am pretty sure the d15b has 130hp.

When I had my '00 Si it ran into the mid 16's bone stock.....With exhaust, header, and an AEM CAI intake I ran a best of 16.0 flat....Only reason I remember is because I was running about the same times as a guy who had a GS-R motor in civic with the same mods at the time. But that was about 6 years ago at the E.T. series at bandiemere....
