Just curious who has done it. Any special paperwork required? What does the state do about taxes etc? I may be trading a vehicle to a guy from Texas and just want to cover all my bases if we do the trade. I plan on stopping by my local DMV to double check the proper procedures but I just wanted to get a heads up on it.
Thanks.

I'd probably do the same route as a sale, only put $1 as the selling price on the title.. makes things easy.
What are you trading what for?

Interesting, so the DMV doesn't get pissed or have rules about putting only $1 as the purchase price?
I may be trading my Supra for this:

No, sir, the purchase price on the title doesn't affect anything. Anything that has to deal with actual cost of vehicle is through insurance. You don't pay tax on your vehicle price, so the govmint doesn't care.

I traded my S2000 to a guy in California. All i did on the bills of sale i wrote up for both of us is that we traded strait across so. I didnt have to do any special paperwork for it, and the courthouse did not question us trading (even though i traded my S2000 for an Integra and $12,0000.) but i didnt tell them i got extra money or anything. He had no issues either in CA with the car. I did however have to fill a bunch of paperwork out for him, but i think that was because the car was from out of state if i remeber right.
