Flash Drive

My flash drive took a crap on me today after transferring some files onto it. Now, no computer will recognize it as a flash drive, but finds it. Anyway to fix this?

See if the manufacture has a tool for reformatting the drive.

Reformat it from windows (if you are running windows).

if it finds it as an external drive, whats wrong?

It detects that it is there, but nothing shows up. It just tells me that its an unknown device. How do you reformat something thats not showing up?

I'd try to upgrade/update/reload you USB driver. Have you powercycled the machine since the intial issue? Do you have multiple USB ports you could try? Plug it into someone elses' computer for some rudimentary troubleshooting?

nah he tried it on different computers and it does the same thing

I think its just fried. Probably need to get a new one.
