Hey I have an 89 crx hf with the D16A6 in it and I want to put a B16 in it... My question is... how much will it cost for someone to do the whole project?

Anywhere from $3k to $6k depending on what parts you use and condition of the engine.

It seems like it would be less than that. If I remember, the kit used to cost about $1500 when it came out, but I'm sure it must be less than that now. Add in the cost of the motor, and the cost of the labor to do the swap.
If you want to PM me on the quotes you have for labor I can see if I can beat it...but you'll have to buy the kit because I can't weld here.

BoostedEG will do swap for a really good price, and he can help you get a complete swap with everything you need for it too. I know for a fact that he can get you a swap and install it for less than 2200

Are you in the Springs? Sirtef9 can do it and beat any price here. Good guy, excellent mechanic skills, no codes. He's had a hand in nearly every mechanical part of my build. Others will vouch for him as well.

Not sure why you found that funny. Someone told me HAI was "Where the ricers go to talk s**t on each other." I wonder why they would have said something like that.
I've been away from Honda's for maybe 6 years now. I've got nothing against them, I'm just really impressed with what you can do with a DSM for the same amount of money. A motor that can handle 400hp out of the box was a big deal to me. I wasn't the fastest around but my buddies and I were installing b-series motors before they even sold kits. After I wrecked my CRX (still thinking of getting another) I got into DSM's and haven't really paid much attention to what was going on since then.
It sounds like you've got some other good options here. Good luck with the swap.

Why do you need a welder for a swap? And wtf is a kit?

And wtf is a kit?
Word.
Hence the reason for my previous statement laughing at that guy. He comes in and posts after Tobi leaves a very rough estimate. Then the guy quotes prices and generalizations that make no sense.

I love HAI. The only people that dont like it are vaginas. Their place is in portugal.
BTW, good luck with the swap. Try to learn as much as you can though so you can do it in the future.

I suppose you either don't know that you need a custom motor mount, or you just weren't around long enough ago to know that before the prefab'd motor mounts were available you had to do some welding, or you couldn't do the swap.
As for the kit, it came with all the things besides the engine (including the axles, wiring, mount, etc.) that you needed to be able to bolt a b16 in. Like I said, I'd guess these parts aren't as hard to gather up as they used to be, and it sounds like you know this. Thanks for the warm welcome ;)
